Łuczniczka Nova – a modern icon of Bydgoszcz
Łuczniczka Nova is an impressive sculpture-symbol that has decorated the public space of Bydgoszcz since 2013. Created by the Toruń sculptor Maciej Jagodziński-Jagenmeer, it is an artistic continuation of the legendary “Łuczniczka” – one of the most recognizable symbols of the city.
This dynamic and sensual figure depicts a slender, athletic woman with a bow, made of bronze weighing about 200 kg. Together with the pedestal, it is about 3 m tall, and its shiny chrome coating beautifully reflects light, attracting the attention of passers-by.
Łuczniczka Nova was unveiled on the occasion of the 667th anniversary of Bydgoszcz receiving city rights and quickly became a new must-see spot on the city map – both for residents and tourists.
You will find it in a representative location – near the Opera Nova and the Mill Island, perfectly fitting into the cultural and scenic walking route through the center of Bydgoszcz.
